Nine Mile Canyon Field trip

The URARA board has decided to cancel the June and July field trips because of the covid-19 issue.  We will be reevaluating conditions in July and for the August picnic and starting up field trips in September.  

The trip will mostly be from car on paved roads with minimal walking.  I will bring a spotting scope, so we can try to see some of the further away panels without having to traipse up and down through rock fields to see them.  The objective is to try to make this trip accessible.  We will focus on a number of the sites listed in Jerry & Donna Spangler’s book “Horned Snakes and Axle Grease”, but we will also be visiting sites that are not listed in there and we’ll be on the look out for sites we weren’t aware of.
