Need to find your way back to that petroglyph panel?  Or your car? This workshop will cover how Global Positioning Devices think and operate.  In classroom and field segments, we’ll learn about settings, how to record tracks and waypoints, and how to download and organize them. We’ll focus on Garmin devices and smartphone apps.

Maximum Number of Participants:  12

Things to Bring: GPS device or smartphone. Notebook for taking notes.  For short field session: sun protection and walking shoes. 

Optional:  Bring your GPS device USB cable and laptop if you want to practice downloading your gpx files.

Difficulty Level: The field part of this workshop will include easy hiking on the museum grounds.
